Originating in the Gangetic plains of Northern India, Buddhism spread far and wide across India and world over with the thrust given by King Ashoka the Great. The story of Buddhism in South India is unique and unknown to many. The coastal regions of Andhra, Telangana and Tamil Nadu bear witness to the unfurling of this story. The Andhra - Telangana region is home to around 150 Buddhist monuments and sites, with sites being discovered even today! While indulging in the local culture of Andhra and Telangana, we take a trip to the stupas, large monasteries, and caves reminiscent of the Buddhist Times.
